Port Fourchon Director Ted Falgout has been tapped by Gov. Bobby Jindal to serve on the Coast Protection and Restoration Financing Corporation.

The group is the state’s hub for financing, purchasing, owning and managing Louisiana’s offshore royalty revenues and offshore royalty revenue assets. The board works closely with Jindal’s office and the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.

Falgout was recommended for the job by state Sen. Reggie Dupre. “I recommended him from day one,” the senator said. “I believe that he is a perfect fit for this board and is most qualified for the position due to his experience in securing bonds for the LA1 project.”

A longtime champion of oil and gas revenue sharing, Falgout said he was looking forward to serving on “this very significant state corporation.”

“The port has long been a leader in working to secure a share of the federal offshore oil and gas revenues for the state, and not it appears I will have the chance to expand our leadership role,” he said.

The CPRFC is comprised of 15 members: Jindal, the state treasurer, attorney general, president of the senate, speaker of the state House, CPRA chairman, secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and secretary of the state Department of Transportation and Development. In addition, the governor appoints seven members, all of whom are subject to senate confirmation.

Each gubernatorial appointment is selected from each of the seven congressional districts. Falgout represents the 3rd Congressional District.

The board also includes John D. Becker of Mandeville, Frank Bonifay of Prairieville, Bill Krutzer of Monroe, King Milling of New Orleans, Frederick Prejean Sr. of Lafayette and Aubrey Temple Jr. of DeRidder.
