About 450 Houma-area residents enjoyed food, spirits and a good time at Thursday’s annual South Central Industrial Association (SCIA) Banquet and Installation of Officers. Tony Alford will take over as president of SCIA from Tony Boudreaux who served two consecutive terms one-year terms.

“My goal for the SCIA is to continue our goals to protect our businesses, continue to fight legislation that could hurt businesses and promote legislation that could help businesses,” said Alford. “We’ll continue to educate the public that without participation and production of our companies, we don’t have jobs and we don’t make a living.”

SCIA presented Simone Theriot-Maloz with the 2010 Outstanding Member Award and Richard “Dickie” Barker with the 2010 President’s Award.
