State Bank & Trust Company has been named a “Top 20” industry earnings performer by ICBA Independent Banker, a national magazine of the Independent Community Bankers of America.

State Bank & Trust Company, which has sites in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes as well as Grand Isle, was recognized for posting one of the 20 best year-end earnings performances in 2007 for ICBA member banks with $50 million to $100 million in assets, according to ICBA spokeswoman Karen Tyson.

“Community banks are integral to the economic and civic fabric of thousands of towns and cities across America,” said Cynthia L. Blankenship, ICBA chairman. “In addition to offering quality financial products and services, community banks like State Bank & Trust Company spend countless hours and resources helping their communities thrive. ICBA congratulates State Bank & Trust Company for serving its community so efficiently and effectively.”

The magazine’s year-end ranking of ICBA members is based on the standard industry performance measures of return on average assets and return on average equity.
