The Terrebonne Economic Development Foundation, working in conjunction with the Terrebonne Parish Economic Development Authority is offering a Terrebonne Mini Grant Program to assist small businesses.

The Terrebonne Mini Grant Program was made possible through a $50,000 grant received from the Foundation for Louisiana. The grant is to be used to help develop small or disadvantaged businesses, particularly minority and women-owned enterprises in Terrebonne Parish.

Prior to obtaining funding, clients must make a formal written request, meet specific criteria and be evaluated and recommended by an advisory work group. In addition, underrepresented enterprises will be required to participate in an established and recognized technical assistance program. TEDA will award grants of up to $5,000 to an enterprise to help with the business’s associated costs.

“TEDA’s mission is to strengthen the parish’s economic base by retaining, expanding and growing business, as well as attracting new businesses and industries to the parish. It is an equal opportunity lender, provider and employer,” a TEDA spokesperson said of the organization’s mission statement.

TEDF began accepting formal written requests today and will accept the requests until funds are exhausted. For application requirements and additional information contact Sheila Bella at sbella@tpeda.org.
