Tri-parish officials elected to Police Jury Association

Paul Naquin, St. Mary parish president, was installed as third vice president of the state Police Jury Association at the organization’s 84th annual convention in late February.

In addition, Charlette Poche, Terrebonne Parish’s assistant council clerk, was elected as the new president of the Organization of Parish Administrative Officials.

More than 1,000 federal, state and local government officials attended the event. They were given Congressional and state updates on a variety of issues ranging from local government financing, ethics, 2010 Census, highway funding, tourism, emergency preparedness and drainage.
