Lafourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph announced Monday that Lafourche Parish Government will collect non-perishable food items through Tuesday, Dec. 14 as a part of a “Christmas Blessing” for parish families in need.

Parish employees began collecting donations Monday at the three main parish offices: Thibodaux Government Complex at 402 Green Street, Mathews Government Complex at 4876 Highway 1 and Galliano Government Complex at 16241 E. Main Street, Suite B.

“The residents of Lafourche Parish have been through so much adversity lately, we felt we wanted to use this time to give back to the community in an effort to help those in need during this holiday season,” Randolph said.

LPG is asking only for non-perishable food items, including canned goods and dry foods such as sugar, flour, rice and pasta. LPG is also collecting personal care items.

For more information, contact the Mathews Government Complex at (985) 537-7603.
