From responding to a manhunt for an elderly man to fielding domestic violence calls, deputies with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office faced a busy weekend.

Department spokesman Larry Weidel said deputies were dispatched to a home in Cut Off Saturday where a 92-year-old man suffering from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases was reported missing.

The man’s vehicle was missing, he said.

A BOLO, “be on the lookout” directive, was issued to surrounding parishes. Fortunately, Sunday morning, the man was found unharmed sitting in the car in the driveway.

Weidel said detectives were called to the Thibodaux Regional Hospital Emergency Room Saturday in reference to a 16-year-old male who had been shot while sitting in his car on Brooklyn Lane in Thibodaux. Upon investigation, detectives learned there had been a large party in the street but no one reportedly heard or saw anything, he said. There were no reports of shooting in that area.

Additionally, over the weekend five arrests were made: Three for domestic violence. Five criminal summons were issued n two for marijuana, two traffic violations, and one loud music citation n were written.
