LPSO offering self-defense course for children

Youngsters ages 5 to 12 can get a hands-on lesson in self defense.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is offering a RAD (Resist Aggression Defensively) Kids Defense Course July 12-16 at Woodmen of the World in Raceland.

Classes will be offered from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to ages 5 through 7; older youngsters (ages 8 to 12) will attend from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

The cost of the session is $10 per child.

Class size is limited. The deadline to sign up is July 9.
