Major Mark Bolton of the U.S. Army will deliver a keynote address at a Veterans Day ceremony hosted by Nicholls State University at noon tomorrow in the campus quadrangle.

The university invited the public to attend the tribute to all veterans and active soldiers.

“The university wishes to recognize those who have served our country,” said Dr. Eugene Dial, vice president for student affairs and enrollment services. “The very concepts of freedom of speech, religion and the right to vote are possible because of the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families.”

There are currently 134 known veterans and 23 known offspring of deceased or disabled veterans who are enrolled at Nicholls, according to a press release.

Bolton will be joined by U.S. Marine veteran and senior government major Lt. Gilberto Burbante and NSU President Stephen Hulbert.
