Renovations to Nicholls State University’s 49-year-old, 52,000-square-foot P.G.T. Beauregard Hall are finally complete. The hall was rededicated yesterday in a public ceremony.

The facility has been almost completely reconfigured and re-equipped for science education and research. Only the steel framework and terrazzo floors from the original structure remain, according to a university press release.

“It’s exciting to have one of the university’s most significant science classroom and research facilities rejuvenated in such a wonderful way,” Nicholls President Dr. Stephen Hulbert said.

Beauregard’s enhancements include laboratories equipped with the latest technologies; new classrooms with fresh carpet and new furnishings; public areas overlooking the quadrangle; and a new elevator and ADA-compliant staircases.

Additional improvements include upgraded and expanded electrical service; walk-in specimen coolers; multiple computer access points; and large, high-definition television and audiovisual screens
