The city of Thibodaux has agreed to help fund the resurfacing of Nicholls State University streets Afton Drive and Ardoyne Drive, saving the university more than $32,000.

The two streets end at the city’s Peltier Park and provide access to the university’s residence facilities, serve as pedestrian access from the park and provide additional parking for events held at the park.

“Nicholls appreciates the willingness of Mayor Charles Caillouet and the City of Thibodaux to enter this joint venture,” Dr. Stephen T. Hulbert, university president, said. “By working through the city, it is saving money while addressing a badly needed street resurfacing project.”
