Lafourche Parish shows signs of slow return to normalcy

September 18, 2008BATON ROUGE – As of noon today, the only Motor Vehicle offices not operational due to Hurricanes Gustav and Ike are the offices located in Cameron, Opelousas, Golden Meadow and Baker.
Now that the Baton Rouge office is fully operational, the mobile bus has been sent to Baker and is currently servicing customers for renewals of driver licenses/ID cards and vehicle registration.
“Office of Motor Vehicles personnel have worked diligently to restore operations in the hurricane affected areas,” said Kay Hodges, Commissioner for the Office of Motor Vehicles.
“We continue to work towards our goal of restoring service for all of our customers.”
