Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 311,229. That’s 6,754 more cases since yesterday. 282,148 are confirmed; 29,081 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 51 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,448 deaths. 7,078 are confirmed; 370 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 12/28/20 is 263,712, which is 16,211 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting 6,207 cases. There are 5,297 confirmed and 910 probable. That’s 132 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 161 deaths; 153 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 17-23 is 7.70%, down 10.50% from the week prior, which was 8.60%. Incidence is 235.44.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 6,124 cases. There are 5,416 confirmed and 708 probable. That’s 178 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 148 deaths; 141 are confirmed and 7 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 17-23 is 11.60%, up 10.50% from the week prior, which was 10.50%. Incidence is 292.74.

 

Statewide, there are 1,717 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 210 are on ventilators. That’s 28 more patients since yesterday, and 8 fewer on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,367,542, which is 52,109 more tests than yesterday. There are 4,155,687 molecular tests and 211,855 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 79,043 tests in Lafourche (73,203 molecular and 5,840 antigen) and 76,429 tests in Terrebonne (72,344 molecular and 4,085 antigen). That’s 856 more tests in Lafourche and 448 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
