Jason Bergeron, Terrebonne’s new Parish President-Elect, is excited to get to work to improve his hometown as he takes office in January of 2024.

Bergeron has extensive work and leadership experience, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Stratify, MSP and Stratify, LLC, Managing Partner of Stratify Digital, LLC and Vitallync LLC, and a Freelance Telematics Business Developer for Bow 2 Stern Services Inc. Bergeron also owned Technology Professionals LLC for 16 years, and served as a Network Administrator at RPC Inc. and Conrad Shipyard. Read more about his professional career here.

Despite this successful career, Bergeron describes recently having a calling towards a higher level of service for Terrebonne Parish, which led him to his bid for Parish President in early 2023. “I felt like our area needed someone with the experience and skill set that I possess,” explained Bergeron. “I felt ready to guide the community in a leadership position.”

One of Bergeron’s personal motivations to run for Terrebonne Parish President was to bring opportunities to Houma, so the younger generation of workers and students will choose to stay local. “One of the reasons I decided to run to begin with is because my son and daughter both moved away from Houma recently, because there were better work opportunities elsewhere,” said Bergeron. “And that really made me think– I knew I needed to do something big to help develop Terrebonne Parish even more to make it desirable for our young community members.”

The new Parish President-Elect won the highly anticipated election on Saturday, November 18, 2023, in a run-off against Terrebonne Parish Council Member Darrin Guidry.

Bergeron detailed some of the issues he plans to focus heavily on during his time in office, which include insurance and economic advantage challenges, continued recovery from Hurricane Ida, strengthening oil and fisheries, repairing roads and currently rundown areas, and most importantly, making sure that the local government is an asset, not a hinderance, to community growth.

“I am excited to use my skill set to empower my employees and everyone in Terrebonne Parish as Parish President,” said Bergeron. “I am looking forward to having transparency with residents and really working to see what we can do to improve overall quality of life. It is going to take all of us, and we will have to come together with a level of empathy and give others the benefit of the doubt– but with that, we can give everyone an opportunity for success and see great results as we move Terrebonne Parish forward.”
