Pedestrian struck as vehicle drove into building in Houma

At approximately 12:04pm on Wednesday April 5, 2023 the Houma Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle crash on the corner of Honduras and Lafayette Street.

The information provided was that a vehicle drove into a building and a pedestrian was also struck.

Only one injury was reported, and was transported to a local hospital by Acadian Ambulance. The driver of the vehicle refused medical care.

Crews will remain on scene until the vehicle is removed from the building and to verify the building is structurally sound.

The Houma Police Department is investigating the crash.

As of 1:30 p.m., crews were still on scene for vehicle recovery and clean up.
