The head figure of an international service organization is making his way to the Bayou Region this weekend.

John Germ, sitting president of Rotary International, will be at the Krewe of Hercules Den in Houma on Saturday for the Rotary District 6200 Food Festival. The gala will feature live music and food from across Louisiana.

Germ served in the United States Air Force and has been with Rotary since 1976. He received a Champion of Change honor from the White House in 2013. Rotary International is a service organization that has about 1.2 million members across 35,000 clubs in over 200 countries.

Tickets to the food festival can be purchased online at rotary6200.org or paid at the door. Tickets are $45 and children 12 and under are admitted free. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Rotary International End Polio Now Fund.
