Rundown of Terrebonne School Board action

The following is a rundown of actions taken by the Terrebonne Parish School Board at its regular meeting on Nov. 21. All board members were present and all actions were unanimous, unless otherwise noted.

• Signed “Declaration of Interest” forms for Mustang Energy LLC.

• Authorized the administration to engage a benefits and actuarial consultant and/or consulting firm to assist in the data collection, actuarial valuation, along with the necessary requirements of GASB 43/45, and establish a budget not to exceed $20,000.

• Authorized the administration to work with the Louisiana Tuition Trust Authority to participate in the “Start Saving Program.”

• Authorized the administration to seek an outside agency to collect checks that are returned to the board and/or schools marked “non-sufficient funds.”

• Approved a change order for the boiler replacements at Dularge Elementary, Mulberry Elementary and Oakshire Elementary schools.

• Authorized the board to change order No. 2 for the warehouse freezer project in the amount of $10,494.95, increasing the construction budget from $783,505.31 to $794,000.26.

• Approved a leave of absence for Wendy Bunn, school psychologist in the Special Education Department.

• Approved a leave of absence without pay for Jill Talbot, teacher at Houma Junior High School.

• Accepted the resignation of Mona Montgomery, a seventh-grade teacher at Oaklawn Junior High School.

• Accepted the resignation of Kieke James, a driver/general maintenance laborer at the school board warehouse.

• Accepted the retirement resignation of Terri-Lee LeBouef, a custodian III at South Terrebonne High School.

• Appointed Sandra Dunbar as the Title I No Child Left Behind School Improvement Coordinator in the Federal Department.

• Appointed Jessica Rosado as the master teacher at Caldwell Middle School.

• Appointed Melanie Wallis as the master teacher at Elysian Fields School.

• Appointed Connie Dupre as the master teacher at Lacache Middle School.

• Appointed Mary Levron as the master teacher at Montegut Middle School.

• Appointed Sharri McGuire as the master teacher at Village East School.

• Appointed Monica Chauvin as a Special Education teacher at Bourg Elementary School.

• Appointed Katherine Johnston as a Special Education teacher at Broadmoor Elementary School.

• Appointed Iesha Reed as a Special Education paraprofessional at Broadmoor Elementary School.

• Appointed Tenicka Dobson as a Special Education paraprofessional at Dularge Middle School.

• Appointed Lisa Hebert as a general health nurse at Ellender Memorial High School.

• Appointed Denise Naquin as a Special Education paraprofessional at Evergreen Junior High School.

• Appointed Lisa Davies as a Special Education paraprofessional at Mulberry Elementary School.

• Appointed Julie Derouen as a Special Education paraprofessional at Schriever Elementary School.
