Public Works Director Kerry Babin indicates that the department has begun preparations as Tropical Storm Bonnie approaches the coast.

“We have topped off fuel in all our pumps and generators, and the water levels have been lowered in all the reservoirs,” said Babin. “We know all the areas where we typically have problems with storms, and we will be on the ground monitoring all these areas.”

Babin also reports that repairs have been completed on the lift bridge in Cut Off (Le Pont D’or) and the Valentine Bridge. Both bridges are now fully operational and open to both vehicular and marine traffic.
