South Central Louisiana Human Services Authority (SCLHSA) is reopening two locations on an abbreviated schedule to assist with crisis and walk-ins.

The St. Mary Behavioral Health Center, located at 580 Roderick Street in Morgan City (985-380-2460), and the Terrebonne Behavioral Health Center is located at 5599 Hwy. 311 in Houma (985-857-3615) are both open Monday- Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Executive Director Lisa Schilling said they will adjust the hours of operation when more staff become available and if they see more patient needs arise.

The locations are open with normal services, medication refills, and providers are available on both telehealth and in-person in case someone needs further evaluation. Primary care services are also available, along with behavioral health, mental health, addiction, and primary care services. They look to open the LaPlace location next week after they get a large enough generator to run the facility.

Schilling said they are trying their best to take care of their patients to keep them out of the emergency rooms and away from law enforcement. She urges those who need help through a stressful time such as hurricane recovery, to reach out. “For anyone who has never been in treatment before but is experiencing, anxiety, stress, or depression from what’s happened to your home, family, and aftermath of Hurricane Ida,” she said, “Please contact us. We’re ready and willing to assist them. It’s not an easy cry for any of us, and sometimes, we all need help, That’s what our services are for is to try to help individuals make sense of what’s going on in our communities.”

To get help, reach out to the CALL Line at 1-877-500-9997. The line is a 24/7 resource. You can also message them on Facebook (@sclhsa), or call the Houma clinic at 985.857.3615.
