Who said there’s no such thing as a free lunch? Or breakfast?

The St. Mary Community Action Agency is offering children ages 1 to 18 free lunch and, in some instances, breakfast during its free summer service food program.

The program began last week, and it will continue through Friday, July 18.

There are nine locations in St. Mary Parish, five in the eastern part of the parish, and four in the west.

In east St. Mary, breakfast is served from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and lunch is served between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Siracusa Recreation Center, 1106 Grace St. in Siracusaville.

Lunch is also dished up from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Aucoin Elementary, 739 Julia St. in Amelia; Julia B. Maitland, 1907 Federal Ave. in Morgan City; the Bayou Vista Community Center, 1333 Belleview St. in Bayou Vista; and at Hattie Watts Elementary, 1307 Third St. in Patterson.

In west St. Mary, breakfast is served between 8:30 and 9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at G.W. Hamilton Elementary, 105 T.J. Hatcherson St. in Baldwin; Mary Hines Elementary, 327 Martin Luther King in Charenton; and at the West St. Mary Civic Center, 1498 La. 318 in Four Corners.

In Verdunville, lunch is served at the St. Mary Alternative School at 131 Clausen Road South.
