Most St. Mary Parish voters will decide a variety of operations and maintenance issues on ballots parishwide Saturday.

In Morgan City, voters will decide whether to renew a property tax to operate and maintain the city’s auditorium. The measure, a 10-year, 2-mill property tax, generates an estimated $200,000 annually, which includes new purchases as well as upkeep of the facility.

In the unincorporated areas of the City of Patterson, as well as in Centerville and Verdunville, voters will consider granting permission to issue $3.4 million in general obligation bonds for 30 years. The measure would not place any new burdens on taxpayers. Monies generated would be earmarked for various projects including waterline extensions, replacing a generator at the water plant and constructing an alternate raw water intake station at the area’s water treatment plant.

In the Franklin area, voters will consider renewing a 10-year, 10-mill property tax for the Hospital Service Area (District 1).
