A Sulphur man was arrested near midnight Thursday after he broke into a building under construction at Main and Lafayette streets, Houma Police said.


Lt. Todd Duplantis said police found Kirk D. Lanthier, 46, of 5767 Hwy. 27, attempting to hide from officers. Lanthier told police he was homeless and needed a place to stay, the spokesman said.

He was arrested for attempted simple burglary.
