Here are the results in our local elections yesterday:
TERREBONNE
• Bayou Cane fire protection tax passed with 1,006 votes for and 569 against.
• Rec 3A tax renewal failed in a tie vote. There were 62 votes for the tax and 62 against.
LAFOURCHE
City of Thibodaux
• Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department tax renewal passed with 745 votes for and 339 against.
• Road maintenance tax renewal passed with 717 votes for and 366 against.
• City Official date change passed with 851 votes for and 239 against.
• Change to Civil Service Board passed with 697 votes for and 383 against.
Raceland constable
• Todd Detillier defeated three other candidates, receiving 53% of the vote.
Detillier received 818 votes. Toby Gambarella received 260 votes. Mike Comardelle received 237 votes. Craig Jaccuzzo received 219 votes.
STATEWIDE AMENDMENTS
Voters across Louisiana rejected all but one of the proposed constitutional amendments. Amendment 2 passed, which lowers individual and corporate income tax rates and removed the deduction for federal taxes paid.
Locally, voters in Terrebonne voted against all four amendments. Voters in Lafourche passed Amendment 2 by seven votes.
