A Thibodaux man was arrested Wednesday after he led police on a high-speed chase after fleeing a fight, Houma Police said.

Police were called to the Brick House lounge on Main Street to break up a fight at 10:38 p.m., Lt. Todd Duplantis said. When officers arrived, a black Mitsubishi truck fled the scene at a high rate of speed, he said.

Officers tried to stop the truck as it crossed the overpass, but the driver refused to stop, Duplantis said. Police clocked the truck traveling in excess of 60 mph in a 35 mph zone, he said. The truck also passed several cars on the right shoulder of the road and ran a red light at Prospect and La. 24.

Duplantis said the truck finally stopped at Presque Isle and La. 24.

Jordan Guidry, 20, of 108 St. Peters Rd., Thibodaux, was driving the truck. His passenger had a broken jaw, nose and eye socket, the spokesman said.

Inside the truck, Duplantis said police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia, which was seized for evidence.

Guidry was arrested and charged with aggravated flight from an officer, possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Jail.

The passenger was transported to Leonard Chabert Medical Center for treatment, Duplantis said.

Police are still investing the fight at the Brick House lounge, he said. No suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, he noted.
