At their regular council meeting on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, the Terrebonne Parish Council was presented with a $5,000 check from Entergy for projects at the Bayou Country Sports Park.

“I saw this grant application come across my desk, and I know how important Bayou Country Sports Park is to Terrebonne Parish, this council, and President Dove,” said Paula Rome, Costumer Service Manager with Entergy. “Since our Entergy region was out of funding, I took it a step further to our State Grants Committee. I thought I was going to have fight to get you all this funding, but it was no fight whatsoever– everyone spoke of how Terrebonne Parish and President Dove have been huge proponents of Entergy and very kind, so it was a unanimous vote to give you these funds.”

Rome then presented the Terrebonne Parish Council with a check for $5,000 for the Bayou Country Sports Park Fitness Center.

“On behalf of the entire council, thank you for this,” said Council Chairwoman Jessica Domangue. “It is not everyday someone brings us a check!”
