A 26-year-old man flagged Houma Police down on East Street late Wednesday, shouting “He stole my car.”

The man was running after a blue Ford Expedition as he yelled for officers, police reported.

Police said the man jumped on the side of the SUV and put the Expedition in park as he pulled the driver from the vehicle.

The victim told police he had earlier reported the Expedition had been taken without his permission (unauthorized use).

The driver, Everette A. Howard, 19, of 3625 Thomas Drive, Houma, had no driver’s license. In addition, he had altered the temporary tag on the SUV, police said.

Howard also had seven white rocks of suspected cocaine in his possession. The drugs were seized for evidence, police said.

Howard was charged with operating a vehicle with no driver’s license, misuse of a temporary tag and driving with no seat belt. He was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Jail.
