After first shedding her pants and underwear inside a Houma lounge and then discarding her remaining clothing in the street Wednesday night, a local woman was arrested for obscenity, Houma Police said.

Nancy Ross, 25, of 250 Morrison Ave., was arrested at 10:55 p.m. outside a lounge in the 7000 block of Main Street, police said.

When officers arrived, Ross was sitting outside the lounge door with no pants or underwear, police said. As the officers approached, the woman became belligerent and started walking toward them with her fists balled up. After she refused to stop, the officers sprayed her with Freeze +p pepper spray. Ross stopped, leaned over a parked car and then stripped off her shirt and bra, police said.

The officers ordered Ross, now naked, to lie down and she complied, police said.

A female officer was called to the scene, and assisted Ross in redressing.

Witnesses inside the lounge told police that Ross had been dancing when she pulled down her pants and underwear, police said. Lounge employees confronted the Houma woman and escorted her out of the building. Police reported once outside the lounge, Ross became violent and was attempting to damage parked vehicles in the area.

Ross was charged with obscenity and resisting an officer. She was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Jail.
