A fourth arrest was made that has a connection to a Terrebonne Parish inmate that died last month.

Last week, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said a continuing investigation of contraband being smuggled into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex resulted in the arrest of Monique Champagne, 32, of 203 Eureka Dr. Apt. 2C in Gray.

The original arrests were made in early February. Roxanne Lirette, Stephen Lirette and Dusty Canter were arrested in connection with smuggling contraband to inmate Jeremy Walker, who was found dead at the facility.

Reports say that Champagne is accused of supplying illegal narcotics with the knowledge that it was being smuggled into the jail. She was arrested for Entering Contraband into a Penal Facility, and remains in jail on a $150,000 bond.

Stephen Lirette and Canter were both employed at the facility at one time. According to reports, Roxanne Lirette would get pass illegal narcotics to Stephen Lirette or Canter, who would then give the contraband to Walker.

The case remains under investigation.
