Abel “Mr. Blue” LeBrun, 95, a native and resident of Plattenville, La., died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, December 10.


He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virgie Bourg LeBrun; one son, Baron “Doogie” LeBrun; five daughters, Sheryl LeBrun and friend James “Bimbo” Bourgeois, Mona Robbins and spouse Kenny Robbins, Debbie Alleman and spouse Claiborne Alleman, Missy Coupel and spouse Harry Coupel, and Liz Rafferty and spouse Richard Rafferty; one daughter-in-law, Kimberly L. LeBrun; 10 grandchildren, Brittany R. Landry and spouse Eric J. Landry, Tiffany Robbins, Ciji Coupel and fiancée Brandon “Foxxy” Hebert, Candace Coupel, Jeremy Coupel, Christian Alleman, Kaitlyn LeBrun, Kristina LeBrun, Kara Rose LeBrun and Nikki Rafferty; and two great-grandchildren, Sheridan Hebert and Jace Coupel.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Rosalie Delaune LeBrun; one son, Michael A. LeBrun; one brother, Alfred LeBrun; and two sisters, Rosa LeBrun and Marcelle L. Verret.

He was a retired foreman from the Assumption Parish Police Jury and a bartender at Bayou Side Golf Course.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, December 13, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Napoleonville, La., with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Napoleonville.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
