Adeline Peterson Whitney, 91, a native and resident of Larose, La., died Thursday October 16.
She is survived by her son Rodney C. Whitney Sr. and wife Janice of Marrero, La.; two daughters, Lynn Adams and husband Daniel of Larose and Gwendolyn Jones and husband Leonard of Larose; seven grandchildren, Rodney Jr. (Annetta) Whitney, Yvette (Marcus) Pierre, Crystal (Anthony) Green, Tranise (Michael) Tyler, Brandi Whitney, Richelle (Michael) Bourda and Damien (Daphne) Adams; and 12 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Washington “Nick” Whitney; one daughter, Gilda Lee Whitney; and two brothers, Murray Peterson and Curtis Peterson.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose and a member of the Ladies’ Altar Society.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 18, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with a mass of Christian burial to follow. Burial will be at Holy Savior Catholic Church Cemetery in Lockport, La.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
