Thibodaux church finds its place after 10-year expansion
January 12, 2010Albert “Al” Buford Caldwell, 72, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Schriever, La., died at 3:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010.
He served on the board of directors for Raceland Bank and Trust and Bank of Erath, was a member of Appa-Alpha Order and Grand Marshal of the 1975 Firemen’s Fair.
He is survived by his former wife, Claudette Claudet Caldwell; son, Vernon (Susan) Caldwell III; Anne (V. Justin) LaGarde; and five grandchildren, Philip, Mathew and Emily Caldwell, Jeanne and Henry LaGarde.
He was preceded in death by his parents, V.L. Jr. and Jeanne Leche Caldwell; and brother, John Vernon Caldwell.
He is buried at St. John Episcopal Cemetery in Thibodaux.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to either Mass or The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
Landry’s Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
