November 28, 2011Albertha Knight Pierre, 90, a native of Lafourche Parish, La., and resident of Marrero, La., died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011
Mrs. Pierre was a member of St. Mathews Baptist Church in Mathews, La.
She is survived by her son, Melvin Knight; daughters, Marguerite Bell, Rachel (Roland Sr.) Lee, Annie Scott and Dorothy Knight; 28 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren; 127 great-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bennie Knight and Robert Pierre; parents, Harrison and Polly Ingram; daughter, Delores Knight; stepdaughter, Lubertha Jones; one grandson; one great-grandson; and 12 siblings.
Visitation will be 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at St. Mathews Baptist Church with services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Kennedy)
