Alcee Peter Rodrigue Jr., 81, a native of Chackbay, La., and resident of Keystone Heights, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010.


Mr. Rodrigue was born March 17, 1929 in Chackbay and was proud to be a Cajun. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years. In 1969, after retiring from the Air Force, he moved to Starke, Fla., and was the founding Hospital Administrator of Lake Butler Reception and Medical Center, where he worked for 12 years. He was also an administrator for Dialysis Centers in Lake City, Gainesville and Ocala. Since his retirement in 1998, he enjoyed gardening, being active in the American Legion Post 56 of Starke and being an active part of his family and grandchildren’s lives. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends. We love you Dad!!


He is survived by his wife, Germaine Rita Ouellette Rodrigue; sons, Kerry and Kenny; daughters, Roxie, Danette and Suzette; 14 grandchildren, Teresa, Nic, Matthew, Adam, Justin, Bryan, Joel, Nicole, Marc, Garrett, Wyatt, Brent, Colby and Alyssa; one great-grandchild, Madisyn; four brothers, Gaston, Kerman and Freddie Rodrigue, and Whitney Trosclair; and sister, Dolly Perque.

He is buried at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla.
