Alexander Chiasson, Jr., 79, a native and resident of Lockport, La., died Tuesday, May 19, at 1:43 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Guidroz Chiasson; six sons, Larry Chiasson and wife Barbara Chiasson, Ray Chiasson and wife Glenda Chiasson, Terry Chiasson and wife Janel Chiasson, Leon Chiasson and wife Sheryl Chiasson, Tommy Chiasson, Randy Chiasson and his wife Cathy Chiasson; two daughters, Mary C. Allemand and husband Michael Allemand, Joeanne C. Sanchez and companion David Sanchez; two brothers, Tilden Chiasson, Herbert Chiasson; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Chiasson, Sr. and Eve Rogers Chiasson; and two sisters, Ada Barrios and Ethel Galliano.
He was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church, and Cursillo Member Number 43 at Lumen Christi Retreat Center. He was retiree of Lockport Sales and Service.
Visitation is 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport, La. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Homes of Lockport, La. is in charge of arrangements.
