Alice “Badie” Pinell Usie, 90, a native of Chauvin, La., and resident of Montegut, La., died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012.

Mrs. Usie was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was a homemaker, a great mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.


She is survived by her children, Amos (Lona) Usie, Evelyn Glynn, Maxine (Eddie) Landry and Roxanna (Terry) Duplantis; brother, Druby Pinell; sisters, Eula Boquet and Beulah Blanchard; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Usie Sr.; parents, Aubin and Gertrude Pinell; granddaughter, Dawn Usie; brothers, Elce, Albert and Luby Pinell; and sisters, Allan Pinell, Mildred Areas and Gertrude Guidry.

Burial was at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
