Alicelee Knoff Demmer, 80, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011.

Mrs. Demmer was a retired school teacher who was active in the PTA, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She loved gardening and was passionate about growing and promoting Louisiana Irises. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, gourmet cooking and loved spending time with family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church.


She is survived by her children, Linda (Dennis) Sheridan, Lisa (Jerry) O’Dell and Harold Jr. (Loretta) Demmer; brother, John Knoff Jr.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Demmer Sr.; and parents, John Sr. and Hilda Knoff.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at Chauvin Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Terrebonne Memorial Park. (Chauvin)
