Allen Billiot, 58, a native of Pointe-aux-Chenes, La., and resident of Lockport, La., died Thursday, May 12, 2011.


Mr. Billiot was a retired boat captain and tankerman. He loved shrimping, fishing, playing the lottery, cooking and spending quality time with his loving wife, children, family and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and great friends. He was a wonderful husband, dad and “Poppie.”


He is survived by his wife, Belinda Knight Billiot; children, Wayne Bourgeois Jr. and Stacey (Scott) LeBlanc; eight grandchildren; two godchildren, Kelly Verdin and Laurence Billiot; brothers, Emary (Lorenza), Dave (Linda) and Philip Billiot; sisters, Jeannette (Carl Authement) Billiot, Anna Lou (Jose’) Hernandez and Yvonne Ferguson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Billiot; father, Victor Billiot; sisters, Fran McGraw and infant twin sister; one brother-in-law, Dave Ferguson; and one sister-in-law, Ann Billiot.

His body was donated to science at Tulane.
