Allen “Go Da Don” E. Guidry, 85, a native of Larose, La., and a resident of Galliano, La., died Tuesday, June 24, at 8:31 p.m.

He is survived by his son, Russell J. Guidry and wife Gloria; daughters, Judy Lorraine and husband Syrus, Sandra Gaspard and husband Wilbert, and Arlene “Lynn” Hebert and husband Gary; sisters, Anna Mae Duplantis and Dorothy Pitre; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucia Naquin Guidry; parents, Vandon and Solonge Babin Guidry; brothers, Dudley, Jimmie and Jerry Guidry; sisters, Marjorie Adams, Bertha Terrebonne, Judy Melancon and Alice Cheramie; and two grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 315. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 26, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off, La. He will be buried at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of the arrangements.
