America Sidonia Porche Porche, 87, a native of Millikin and a resident of Houma, La., died at 6:28 p.m. Tuesday, January 20.
She is survived by her son, Martin Paul Porche and wife Amy of Houma; daughter, Yvonne P. Hebert and husband Richard of Houma; sisters, Inez M.P. Brien of Pace, Fl., and Mary Etna P. Schafide of Houma; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Jean Porche; parents, Milton J. Porche and Mary Etna Whitmore Porche; sons, Christopher Porche, Patrick Porche and Anthony Porche; daughter, Catherine Madlyn Porche; and sister, Sybil M. Porche Martinez.
She was a former reporter for the Houma Daily Courier and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and St. Eloi Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Diabetes Association.
She was buried at St. Eloi Catholic Church Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
