Annie Lee Hanzy Pratt, a native and resident of Gibson, La., died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010.


Mrs. Pratt was a member of St. James Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Lorenia Johnson Hanzy; sons, Micheal James Pratt and Frank Bernette Brice of Oakland, Calif.; daughter, Denise LaSalle Pratt Miller of Virginia Beach, Va.; brothers, Elijah Jr., Nathan Sr., Alfred Sr., Lionel Sr. and Claudel Hanzy; sisters, Louise Joseph, Annie Mae Johnson and Orelia Turner; and six grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her father, Elijah Hanzy Sr.; brother, Charles Hanzy; and grandparents, Charles and Mary Short Hanzy, and Richard and Carrie Cross Johnson.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at Community Funeral Home in Houma. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church in Gibson.

She will be buried at St. James Baptist Church Cemetery in Gibson.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
