Antoinette Marie Use’ Savoie, 97, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006.


Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Benjamin P. Savoie and wife, Merle B., Paul A. Savoie and wife, Sylvia F., and Carroll J. Savoie of Houma; one daughter, Valerie S. Himel of Houma; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul James “Jimmie” Savoie; her father, Charles Victor “John” Use’; her mother and stepfather, Orlean Dupre Use’ LeBouef and Joseph LeBouef; three daughters, Bessie S. Brunet, Elsie Marie Savoie and Jeanette Savoie; two great-granddaughters, Peggy Sue Allemand and Shalon Belanger; one great-great-granddaughter, Pattie Lynn Scott; one son-in-law, Roy Himel; one daughter-in-law, Jeanette P. Savoie; and one sister, Aline Use’ Melancon Clement Pitre.

She was retired from Terrebonne General Medical Center and was one of the original staff members of the hospital.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
