Armanda Isabel “Belle” Avet, 79, a native of San Diego, Tx., and a resident of Houma, La., died after a long illness Monday, December 8.


She is survived by her husband, James Merlin Avet; one sister, Sylvia Alma Lopez of Hebbronville, Tx.; three daughters, Linda Avet of Metairie, La., Kathy Avet of Houston, Tx., and Mary Boudreaux and husband David of Houma; four grandchildren, Jessica Lee Chilton Salinas of Spring, Tx., Steven Boudreaux, Christopher Boudreaux and Alicia Boudreaux of Houma; four great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan G. Garcia and Alicia Gomez Garcia; one sister, Anna Maria Quintanilla; and one grandson, James Everett Chilton.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who touched many lives in the Lisa Park subdivision and St. Bernadette Church communities of Houma.

She was buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
