Augusta Johnson Sr,74, a native of Paincourtville, La., and resident of Napoleonville, La., died Sunday, January 13, 2008.


He is survived by his wife Deloris Johnson; three sons, Michael Johnson, Johnny Johnson and Chris Spotts; five daughters, Sandra Johnson, Darlene Yarbourgh, Cheryl Washington,Susan Johnson and Joyce Spotts;six brothers, Rev. Matherne Johnson, Roland Johnson, Willie Johnson, and Learoy Johnson, Ivory Johnson and Norman Johnson; five sisters, Annie Lemon, Rosemary Skidmoore, Shirley Johnson, Joyce Joseph and Barbara Taylor; thirteen grandchildren; and one great- grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Northern and Earnestine Johnson; one brother, Carlton Johnson; and one sister, Maryland Johnson.

Augusta was an Ordained Deacon at New Belmont Baptist Church and a member of New Beginning Mass Choir. He was also a member of Mt. Morial Masonic Lodge # 17 of Napoleonville. His hobbies included fishing and coordinating.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008 at New Belmont Baptist Church in Labadieville, La., with the funeral to follow. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
