Barry James Blackwell, 58, a native of Baton Rouge, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 2:41 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011.


Mr. Blackwell was the current manager of the Waterworks District No. 1. He was the past Terrebonne Parish Manager and worldwide general manager of Universal Ogden. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, family and friends and was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Maricelli Blackwell; son, Brad Blackwell; daughters, Gina (Michael) Trahan and Kara Blackwell; three grandchildren, Hannah, Kaylee and Hunter Trahan; and brothers, Robert “Bobby” Blackwell Jr., and Bernard “Beanie”, Willard “Will”, Dr. William “Bill” and Roy Jr. St. Martin.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Theriot St. Martin; stepfather, Dr. Roy St. Martin Sr.; and brother, Leon St. Martin.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to your favorite charity.

He is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
