Belton Antoine Badeaux, 92, died at 10:24 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2010.


Mr. Badeaux was a veteran of World War II, and a carpenter and bricklayer by trade, who built some of the finest houses in South Lafourche. He was a volunteer fireman, a board member of the Cut Off Youth Center, a member of Holy Name Society and of the Building and Cemetery Committee at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was a parishioner. He was also very instrumental in the construction and raising funds for the Cut Off Youth Center. After retirement he enjoyed going to the camp and fishing with his late wife, Minola, and he loved a good football game.

He is survived by his children, Elizabeth and Jimmy (Brenda) Badeaux and Catherine “Cat” (Glenn) Vice; eight grandchildren, Rory, Greg, Jerry, Jamie, Amanda, Kristen, Jeremy and Emily; nine great-grandchildren, Tommy J., Blake, Jordan, Bret, Heather, Patrick, Jamie, Roman and Mary Lucile; and two great-great-grandchildren, Bella and Ezrah.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Minola Plaisance Badeaux.

He is buried at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.
