State’s higher-education plot line is very predictable

November 5, 2010Benny Mark Matherne, 77, a native of Bayou Blue, La., and a resident of Bourg, La., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010.
Mr. Matherne worked at Macobar Drilling Fluids for 44 years as a Mud Engineer. He was a member of Bayou Blue United Methodist Church where he belonged to the United Methodist Men’s Group.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Matherne; sons, Eddie (Cathy) and Mark Matherne; daughters, Roxanne White and Mally (Billy Jr.) Harmon; stepson, Tom Posey Jr.; stepdaughter, Gwynelen (Charles) Smith; sisters, Carol Breaux, Marion Hebert, Margaret Fischer and Jean Matherne; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Burial was at Matherne Cemetery.
