Jail woes continue in Lafourche Parish with tax on hold – for now

Benton Paul Larousse, 82, a native and resident of Mathews, La., died at 12:25 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2011.


Mr. Larousse was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the V.F.W. Post 3665.


He is survived by his wife, Lois Legendre Larousse; sons, Ferrel (Carolyn), Jody (Christine), Kyle (Donna), Neal (Inez) and Todd (Jennifer) Larousse; daughters, Faye (James) Pertuit and Tina Plaisance; daughter-in-law, Peggy Larousse; brothers, Nilton and Vanton Larousse; sister, Rita Delatte; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louisiana Plaisance Larousse; son, Kevin Larousse; daughter, Lila Larousse; seven brothers, Joseph Jr., Louis, Milton, Andre, Clifton, Victor and Wilton Larousse; and two sisters, Irene Dufrene and Amanda Sevin.

He is buried at Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery. (Samart-Mothe)
