Bernell V. Smith, 62, a native and resident of Napoleonville, La., died at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center Sunday, June 14.


She is survived by her daughters, Annette and husband Otis Joseph Jr., and Rosalind and husband Johnell Millien, all of Napoleonville; son, Corey and wife Nekitha Smith of Labadieville, La.; sisters, Thelma and husband Silas Hill of Labadieville, and Wilhelmenia Wise of Houston, Texas; brother, Sterling Smith Sr. of Napoleonville; nine grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Luberdia and Rev. Alfred Smith; and sister, Gertrude Stewart.

She was a homemaker.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, at St. Paul Baptist Church in Napoleonville. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with burial at St. John Baptist Church Cemetery in Napoleonville.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
