Bernice Williams Lovely, 71, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, La. died Sunday, November 4, 2007.

She is survived by her second husband, Clarance Lovely; her three sons, Carlos Alvis, Sr. and wife his Debra, Thaddeus Alvis, and Freddie Alvis; one daughter, Lydia Faye Jackson; two brothers, Chester Boutte and Dennis Newton; one sister, Daisy Anderson; 17 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her first Husband, Freddie Alvis, Sr.; her parents, Andrew Williams and Beaulah Newton; her grandparents, George and Mamie Williams and Susie and Moses Newton.

Bernice was a devout Christian and a member of House of The Lord Church and the Union Benevolence Society. She was retired from Terrebonne Parish School Board.

Visitation is Friday, November 9, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Community Funeral Home, with the funeral held Saturday, November 10, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at House of The Lord Church. She will be buried in Union Benevolent Cemetery.
