Bertrand R. “Bobby McGee, Da-Daddy, Bert” Braun, 80, a native of Franklin, La., and a resident of Des Allemands, La., died Sunday, September 14.


He is survived by his wife, Mary “Betty” Braun; two sons, Buddy Braun and wife Anne, and Brett Braun and wife Nelanne; one daughter, Dianna Braun Dufrene; one brother, Phillip Anthony Braun; two sisters, Ruth Richard and Myrtle Lanclos; eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Rhonda, Bert, Kristy, Tony, Tiffany and Ty; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Bertrand Braun and Rose Regina Braun; one son, Phillip W. Towndrow; one daughter, Pamela Ann Rogers; and one sister, Thelma Miller Young.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, September 20, at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, La., with a religious service to follow. He will be buried at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Des Allemands, La.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
